- ABOUT ME -
Carolyn Rogers, born, raised, and currently living in Ferrum, Virginia, was brought up in a creative family, so it was only natural she chose to be an artist. Introduced to blown glass at a young age by watching historical glassblowers in Jamestown, VA, she eventually decided to pursue glass at the University of the Arts where she graduated in 2009. Located in Philadelphia, UARTs was conveniently located near the College of Physicians' Mutter Museum. Already possessed of a fascination with the bizarre and the macabre, Rogers was a frequent visitor to the museum. Inspired by her time there, Rogers eventually went on to experiment with non-traditional glassblowing techniques to create her own unique and theatrical way of creating sculpture.
